What Is Stellar M22™ XPL?

Stellar M22™ XPL is an advanced light-based treatment platform featuring Expert Pulse Light technology, also known as XPL™.

XPL is the latest evolution of IPL technology. It delivers carefully controlled pulses of light into the skin to target unwanted pigmentation, visible redness and signs of sun damage.

How Does Stellar M22™ XPL Work?

Stellar M22™ XPL delivers controlled pulses of broad-spectrum light into selected areas of the skin.

The light energy is absorbed by specific targets within the skin:

• Melanin absorbs the light when treating superficial pigmentation, freckles and sun spots.
• Haemoglobin absorbs the light when treating redness, rosacea and visible facial vessels.

The targeted pigment or redness is gradually broken down or reduced by the body’s natural processes.

Stellar M22™ XPL for Pigmentation

Stellar M22™ XPL is designed to treat superficial pigmentation, including freckles, sun spots and visible signs of sun damage.

During treatment, the light energy is absorbed by excess melanin within the targeted pigmentation.

Following treatment, some pigmented spots may temporarily appear darker before gradually becoming lighter or naturally shedding from the skin.

Stellar M22™ XPL is primarily intended for epidermal or superficial pigmentation. Deeper or hormonal pigmentation, including melasma, may require a different laser treatment plan.

What Happens During the Treatment?

Before treatment, your skin will be cleansed and protective eyewear will be provided.

A cooling gel may be applied to the treatment area. The XPL handpiece is then placed against the skin while controlled pulses of light are delivered.

You may feel a brief warm or snapping sensation with each pulse. Most clients find the treatment manageable.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

The recommended number of sessions depends on your skin condition, the type of concern being treated and your individual response.

As a general guide:

• Skin rejuvenation: approximately 3 treatments
• Freckles and superficial pigmentation: approximately 3–6 treatments
• Rosacea and facial redness: approximately 3–6 treatments
• More persistent concerns: additional sessions or maintenance may be required

Results vary between individuals, and no specific outcome can be guaranteed.

Treatment Interval

Stellar M22™ XPL treatments are generally performed at intervals of approximately 3–4 weeks.

This allows the skin sufficient time to recover and respond before the next session.

Your practitioner may recommend a longer interval depending on your skin type, treatment intensity and skin response.
